Kidney Cancer (RCC and TCC)

Kidney cancer is a form of cancer which will starts in the cells in the kidney. The occurrence of kidney cancer was increasing rapidly. Main reason for this can be the fact that imaging techniques like computerized tomography (CT) scan are being used more frequently. These tests may lead to the accidental detection of more kidney cancers.

The two most common types of kidney cancer are
  • Renal cell carcinoma (RCC)
  • Transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of the renal pelvis

The different types of kidney cancer (such as RCC and TCC) may develop in several ways, this means the diseases have so many long term outcomes, and need to be staged and treat in many ways.

Kidney Cancer

RENAL CELL CARCINOMA (RCC):

Renal cell carcinoma also called as hypernephroma it is a kidney cancer that originate from the lining of the proximal convoluted tubule, a portion of the very small sized tubes which are located in kidney that transfers waste materials from the blood to the urine. RCC is the most common in adults. RCC usually spreads to the lymph nodes, adrenal glands, lungs, liver, brain or bones. RCC is accountable for nearly 80% of primary renal cancers.

TRANSITIONAL CELL CARCINOMA (TCC):

Transitional cell carcinoma is a kind of cancer that usually occurs in the urinary system parts such as urinary bladder, kidney and accessory organs. It was the most regular type of bladder cancer and cancer of the urethraureter and urachus. It was the second most common type of kidney cancer.

Major Causes of TCC
  • Smoking cigarettes
  • Working under specific chemicals that include industrial dyes Aluminium, Rubber, Plastics and Pesticides
Symptoms
  • Frequent urination
  • Blood in the urine
  • Pain in your back
  • Weight loss
  • Anemia
Tests to Diagnose TCC and RCC
  • Blood test
  • Urine test
  • MRI scan
  • Ureteroscopy
  • Ultrasound intravenous pyelogram
  • CT scan
  • Retrograde pyelogram
  • Renal arteriogram

There is no exact prevention to kidney cancer but give up smoking, sustain a healthy weight, manage blood pressure and avoid expose to harmful chemicals may lower the complications of the kidney cancer.
